I have been a Federal Sector Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Practitioner for over twenty years. In that time I have had several clients ask me for a list of best practice tools in constructive conflict management that they could refer to as needed. Each time I was asked for this I found myself constructing a personalized list for each specific client; always stating in the back of my mind, I need to develop a generic list that any of my clients could use. Well, now because of the sensational book; “Stop the Dreaded Drama: 55 Tips for Ending Destructive Conflict” by Patricia “Pattie” Porter that task I needed to do has been done. Pattie’s mini book is a great asset to anyone needing a structured frame to follow when looking at proven steps to cover when attempting to resolve conflict. It is written in a way that gives the reader some rock solid things they can start doing promptly after just an hour of reading. Pattie has captured the elements of what all ADR Practitioners hope to leave with their clients after working with them. Her book is so amazing; all I can say is, “Why didn’t I think of doing this”. Awesome work Pattie, I will forever be in your debt for giving me a very usable tool that I can use in my practice arena.

One of the biggest challenges for human resource leaders is providing education, support and insight into conflict resolution within their organizations. I was thrilled to find Pattie Porter’s MiniBük, “Stop the Dreaded Drama: 55 Tips for Ending Destructive Conflict.” Using Pattie’s book, we structured a leadership development class on this topic. It was so successful we ordered the MiniBüks for every employee in the company. We received positive feedback from managers instantly – ‘great resource, I feel more confident, I have less anxiety and I’m not avoiding difficult conversations now.’ Pattie’s logical and easy to follow steps encourage the reader to step into challenging conversations with confidence.I highly recommend Pattie’s book – a great resource, an easy read and a fantastic addition to one’s toolbox of resources.
